Comments too long... did not read :)

@FriendlyShadow1 Yes, I suppose a very small degree of myopy would have been kind of alright in the old days. As for your question, that's another one of those evolution presents you where it's kind of hard to reason your way through it... I would imagine it's a rather "new" mutation that has been aided by today's (and 1000 years ago's) good standards of livings. Part of the reason for that is because not many people are genetically blind. Many just lose their sight one way or another.

@wasilewski91 Yes, of course it's for a reason, I agree. Perhaps I should have been more clear - perfect eyesight isn't, and wasn't, crucial to survival. Things only have to be "good enough" to enable us to survive long enough to reproduce. But here's an interesting question: how do you explain blindness?

@FriendlyShadow1 Oh, but eyesight did use to be crucial to survival. How long do you think our ancestors managed to live when it's hard to tell the difference between predator and prey? Even with a relatively mild problem as my -2 myopic vision it would be hard to tell the difference between a lion and a deer from a distance. The eye is as developed as they are on humans for a reason...

@wasilewski91 That's an interesting question, but no, it shouldn't have, and didn't. We don't select our mates based on all aspects of their genetics, and so certain genes get passed on. If our eyesight were crucial to our survival, we'd see more people with perfect eyesight, as those of us with bad eyesight wouldn't survive to reproduce.

@FriendlyShadow1 Not necessarily. It's really not much of a burden to be called evil, and it being a deficiency so to speak is only an anti-Creationist argument if we assume the omnipotent being was attempting to make his creation perfect to begin with. Food for thought: shouldn't evolution have rulen out the genetics of this problem that is so prevalent today? Kind of hard to get LASIK tens of thousands of years ago.

@Airlightf What point are you trying to get across? An argument from design?

@FriendlyShadow1 I'd like to share this with you:“You will never see a spear making a spear. You will never see a horse shoe making a blacksmith. You will never see a pot making a potter.” –Dennett. Well, the spear tells who made it. The horse shoe tells you who the maker is. Now, you will never see a pot laughing--mocking in the hands of its Creator without getting broken(into small pieces) or thrown outside. Don’t you see this pile of disobedient pots by my side?

@Airlightf So, it is believing in "crap" to accept evidence?

@wasilewski91 If you think about it, wilmer420's argument actually isn't too bad. Wouldn't a benevolent designer design things well? Evolution can give an illusion of design, but upon further examination, it becomes clear that it is not design, but a gradual change. I think it's a rather good point.

Dan Dennett is cute, sexy, sweet, and funny. ^_______^

@wilmer420 I'm an atheist, but that was a terrible argument.

If you think we were designed then why do you and so many people have glasses on your face? Designed lol grow up!

@Airlightf Their intentions cannot be used as an excuse for your actions.

@obiwan177 do you know atheists' intentions towards religion as a whole? Investigate first, and them come back to comment.

@Airlightf Please stop this nonsense. You imply that you follow God, that you are trying to live your life for God, and are trying to be God-like. Telling people they should be "wiped off of this earth" is not love, and neither is this conversation. Are you doing this because you have a need to be right? Or are you doing this for God?

@CrimsonDeathBed Really? Are you a creationist? I am, and it's not a mystery to me. If you have ever read Genesis you would know. You can't be ignorant to create a perfect argument.

@Airlightf Christian Logic; It's so sad it's funny.

@Unappealing Atheists besides talking crap, knowing crap, and believe in crap, do these three things: poop, spew, and cry. But what else could they possible know outside their own world? I mean, what do they know? They don't know we still love them regardless who they are!!! :)

Atheists remind me of this little girl. She has blue eyes because her father has blue eyes. But since she doesn’t like him, she says her eyes are blue because the skies are blue. HAHAHAHHAHA. And again I tell her, “Your eyes are blue because your father’s eyes are blue. “No” she says. “ I have blue eyes because when we used to live in Sacrament, US, my neighbor there had blue eyes.”

I think Mr. Dennett should grow his beard much longer... Modern day Darwin. Dennett Rocks !

@Airlightf excuse me while i laugh out loud at how incredibly stupid you are, welcome to the 21st century silly, atheism and the clarity of thought it represents is the only thing that has a place in the modern educated world. Not mind numbing brain washing religion, the movement spear headed by fearless men like mr. dennett here to remove the garbage that is religion or the belief in god is never going to end, and never stay still, never shrink, if this fears you then you are a coward.

And who the heck are these atheists to tell you that God doesn’t exist? Let us wipe down atheists from the face of the earth because their life has no meaning; and anything that has not a reason to be here, there is no reason to keep it alive. You won’t go to jail for throwing trash into the trash can.

@TheJmangeri according to current astrological experts, being able to detect an Earth path crossing rock in time to do anything about it, is the equivalent of winning the lottery. so if it is going to hit, is any government official going to tell you? so in like fashion, is Karl Marx, Fulton Sheen or Joseph Goebbels going to tell you what they are up to? and like the asteroid - by the time you figure out what this guy is up to, it will be far to late.
